IRS notices, back taxes and audits

If the IRS has written to you, the worst thing you can do is wait. Most of what feels urgent can be slowed down, sorted out and settled on terms you can live with.

Representation, not just advice

As an Enrolled Agent, Matthew Reed has unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS. Once you sign a power of attorney, the IRS deals with us instead of you. That includes the calls, the letters, the revenue officers and the appeals.

Matt is a Certified Tax Resolution Specialist. Before founding SRTA, he was the lead Enrolled Agent at a national tax resolution firm, closing 60 to 100 IRS cases a month, and he has resolved more than $40 million in IRS tax debt for clients across the country.

How a case starts

  1. Case review

We pull your IRS transcripts and read what the IRS actually has on file. It's often different from what the letters suggest.

  2. A written plan and a flat fee

You get your options in plain language, what each one costs, and what we recommend.

  3. We take the calls

Once you sign, the IRS contacts us instead of you, and we keep you updated until the case is closed.

Is that call really the IRS?

The IRS almost always makes first contact by mail. It does not demand payment by gift card, wire transfer or cryptocurrency, and it does not threaten arrest over the phone. If you aren't sure, don't pay anyone. Call us with the letter in hand, and we'll check your account.
